Dear Parents, Guardians and Visitors:
The history of Scholars International Academy, over the last five years, is one of academic rigour and growth. SIA offers the UK National Curriculum from Foundation to Grade 8. SIA’s consistent, effective improvement has seen student numbers increase steadily over the years. It is with great enthusiasm that we build upon our past successes to continue our journey to become the finest international school in Sharjah. SIA is a school that values western styles of education, blending these values with a respect for local culture and tradition.
The quality of SIA’s International flavour is vital to the success of each child as they move up to higher grade levels. The goal of SIA is to develop the whole child, have students gain independence, lay the foundation for future studies and challenge students in many areas. In the Foundation Years the joy of learning, through child centered activities, is essential. Key Stage 1 focus is on individual student growth and their successful learning of basic skills. Key Stage 2 sees a program shift from learning basic skills to applying these skills and learning how to learn. Students enter Key Stage 3 with solid basics and life skills enabling them to explore and master the more difficult and challenging content. Key Stage 3 prepares our students for the rigour of our future high school program.
Learning at SIA is a shared responsibility between the students, teachers, parents and administration, with each playing a separate, yet integrated and vital role in the educational development of each child. For students, learning is not limited to the school, as the skills, attitudes and processes are built upon each successful year. This progression establishes the solid foundation upon which students build their post-secondary experience, yet also affords students the skills and attitudes in their own lives to become truly independent, strong world citizens.
I welcome you to SIA and encourage you to become actively involved in the academic lives of your children. Homework habits begin in Foundation and build up through the different stages. If you have a chance to visit the school, you will immediately feel the warm and friendly atmosphere. We are all proud participants of our SIA Family!
Yours in Education
